Puthiya Thalaimurai TV comes under SRM Group which also owns other television channels like Vendhar TV & Puthu Yugam which are entertainment channels. This Tamil news channel gives live news throughout the day during all weekdays and weekends. This was against the plan of airing the debate program on the topic of “Thaali" or “Mangalsutra". Puthiya Thalaimurai TV office in Ekkaduthangal, Chennai was attacked in March 2015 with two (tiffin box) bombs. This news channel very soon after its commencement become the leading news channel in Tamil leaving the competitors far behind.
